Trip to the fire station

Yesterday Skylee's playgroup went on a tour of Bentonville's newest fire station. the place was really big and the kids loved it. The firemen themselves were super nice. Skylee has made a new little boyfriend. His name is Austin and is super cute. I hope this gives Skylee a little fix of her firemen issues. If we see them at the grocery store she insists on following them and wants to buy everything that they do.

A few kids got scared when the firefighter put on his scba but Skylee thought it was pretty neat

Sitting in one of the 20 recliners in front of the projection tv.

She got a kick out of the Eagle on the cap.

Can I touch this?

A little funny from work last week. It has been so boring lately with all the rain but I thought this was good.

The officers respond to a verbal disturbance and end up arresting onr of the partys for possession of a controlled substance. And they bring him to the station to cite and release him. He was also accused of stealing money from the other party involved in the dispute.
We have a digital camera that we use to take photos of the accused to go along with reports. the officer took the guys photo and set it down to do the report. He walked away for a sec and came into dispatch looking for the camera. Then they started looking all over for it in the station. Bet you'll never guess where they found it. In the dude's pocket. What? He says it was an accident and he is used to putting shiny things in his pocket because everyone steals from him (huh?) and it also looked like his cell phone( not really)

The moron was released and the camera was put away where it belonged. Who in their right mind tries to steal from the cops?
What was he thinking? ( I know they will never look for it in my pocket)

It's guys like this that keep us in business.

Ice Skating

Skylee has started taking ice skating lessons and they are going really well. She stays up on two feet and that is better than most right? As long as she is in the snow pants to pad the toosh we are happy.

Try to ignore me laughing towards the end when she almost falls

hodgepodge of things.

Okay so here are a few other pics. Lenka decided to have a 3rd bday party for Jackson at Chuck E Cheese. 24 hours notice, but she pulled it off and the kids had fun. We saw Adam and his family there and it went well. You can tell the kids miss each other. Aww!

Happy Belated Easter

On Wed we did a little hunt at Abe and Levi's house with their Grandma Linda. I got some great photos of this. The kids had a great time. I must say Skylee was very good at finding the eggs. We had a bunch when it was all said and done. The kids had ice cream(thanks Lenka), dyed Easter Eggs, and decorated cup cakes. We couldn't stay very long since this was a work day for me, but we had a nice time.
The next morning I came home at 6am to find Skylee awake(woohoo) and she felt kind of hot. Of course I couldnt find a thermometer so I had Damien check her out and he said she was fine. Of course she was acting okay so I let it go. We had to go to her class that day for their easter egg hunt and she was very excited to go. We left the house and drove the 5 minutes to school. As we got there she became super clingy, and I asked her teacher if they could take her temp. It was 102! I can't believe how quick that came on. So she missed school on friday, and ran a high temp if you missed a dose of Motrin. She was well enough to go have dinner with Titi and see the new Hannah Montana movie. And a family egg hunt on Saturday. So finally monday we made it to the Dr and found out she had the flu. Other than the fever she had no other symptoms. And she didn't act like it was bothering her. Poor thing.
I came down with it a bit too, but nothing to write home about. So as soon as I can I will post some pics of the stuff we have been up to. Oh and I also have some video of Skylee at her ice skating lessons too.

Hunting Eggs at Abe's

Do you know how hard it was to get the kids to take this pic? All they could see were the eggs. Jackson wouldn't even take the pic. LOL

Learning the hard way

Ok so on Thursday Skylee and I went to meet Linda, Abe and Levi at Fastlanes for some lunch and fun. I don't know who had more fun Linda and I or the kids. They have these really addictive games that are funky claw machine candy types. I think Linda and I spent at least 10 minutes on the machine, helping the kids of course.
We weren't able to ride the go karts since they weren't on but we had a good time and some yummy lunch anyways.
Well recently I have had to tell Skylee not to stick things out the car window.
"Skylee, you can't stick your head out the window."
"bruno does it."
"you arent Bruno, and Mommy doesnt get noticed by the cops if Bruno does it. But I think they might notice the 4 yr old trying to hang out of the window"
**Skylee pouting***

So on the way home from Fastlanes Skylee requested her window down and I obliged. We are cruising and I hear this strange *tink tink* and it kind of sounded like I ran over something. Well immediately Skylee screeches in the back seat.

"MY HORSEY"
"Where is your horse?"
"BACK THERE. YOU HAVE TO GO BACK."
"Sorry kid, but you cant stop traffic on 71 to get anything, we will have to get a new one."
Apparently Horsey was getting some fresh air and fell out the window

It was really hard not to laugh, she was so upset but it brought back memories. I remember tossing my sister's pencil bag out the window once. We never did find it even though my dad turned around and made me look for it. So anyways we had to go directly to walmart to replace the stuffed horse. So one quick stop and $15 later we were feeling better, and only a smidge traumatized.

Zoo Time

So last weekend I took Skylee to the Tulsa Zoo. Everyone was busy so it was just the two of us but we had a really nice time. It was 60 and sunny the whole day, while back home it was rainy and in the 40s. Skylee took her own video camera that she got for Valentine's Day from mommy and daddy. She does really well with it (when her finger isn't covering the lense) So i added a few of her pics too.

This is one of Skylees. She loved this pic of a colorful fish. Can you see her reflection in the glass?

This is another of of Skylee's photos She really liked this Bald Eagle. I think this one is blind in one eye since it was clouded over, but still a beautiful bird.

Skylee had a rockin time at the petting zoo. She took the time to brush every single sheep and goat.

What would a trip to the zoo be without a ride on a camel?

Have you ever seen a giraffe kneel down? This was a first for us.

Do I need to explain this one? Come on who can pass up the flamingos?

Thirsty anyone? Of course the water fountain wasn't working but she had fun pretending to be lunch.

This was so cute. The monkey came and sat next to Skylee for this pic. Lenka said this monkey throws pooh at her when she goes, lucky for us this didn't happen to us.

Zebras!!

Elephants are ccol. they have a bunch and the museum is pretty neat too.

So sweet!

So I guess there are those out there that may feel my child is horrible, and sometimes she can be naughty (Logan's anyone?) But there are moments that I wouldn't trade for anything. Most mornings when I come home from work at 6 am Skylee is still asleep, but this morning she had just woken up.
"Mommy! My heart was beating for you!"

Is that not the cutest thing ever? Do they know they can do this to us? She can be so sweet and caring. Every time we leave the house she cries for Bruno. She hates for him to be lonely and she misses him so much. I try to remind her of this later in the day when she is upset that he ate the watermelon right off her fork.
